Mark Rubin from Infinity Ward has confirmed that COD Ghost on Playstation 4 will be supporting 1080p native and Xbox One will be 720p Upscaled to 1080p. If you would like to read it yourself you can go here http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1rqqa5o. Without COD Ghost, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One here yet, its hard to picture what difference with 1080p PlayStation vs. Xbox Ones 720p Upscaled. I have set some images up to show people the difference between 1080p and 720p. Here is some images of 1080 vs 720 for COD BO2 but this could easily relate the same to COD Ghost. These pictures are scale correctly not zoomed so they are accurate but for the best result you should set your resolution to 1920 X 1080 if not these pictures could be misleading in either direction.
There are things you should keep in mind when looking at these images. It is possible Xbox One Infinity Ward Team Choose to keep the resolution less to gain in some other area. Example could be textures, better geometry, lighting effects, or other effects. Beautiful graphics doesn’t just come down to resolution even though its a big part. Another thing to keep in mind is when scaling there is different algorithms you can use to make the scaling look nicer who is to say the Xbox One doesn’t use a better method for scaling 720p to 1080p. It is my belief though that this provides a good bases for what we can expect as far as COD Ghost 1080p vs 720p. Odds are the PlayStation 4 will look better then the Xbox One. I still believe I’m going to buy and Xbox One but the decision is no long clear cut for me.
For those who want a more accurate test for COD 1080p vs. 720p I recommend setting a computer or device to 1080p preferably using the screen you will be using for gaming and download this zip file with the full size images and open them with a program that takes up 100% of the screen with the image or set them as your background and compare the 2 yourself. Call of Duty Ghost is only 6 days away. I’ve been spending time playing MW3 for the past few days in preparation for Ghost. I believe early success in Ghost is going to be effected greatly by ones ability to adapt to new aspects of the game. Not just adapting but doing it quickly. I can’t speak on Call of Duty Ghost at the moment since its not out yet but I’ll go over some of the ways you need to adapt from Black Op2 2 to MW3 that I found useful. It is my hope that this will get your mind running to better pick out differences between Call of Duty Ghost and BO2.
One of the first things I noticed is flanking seems to happen faster. I believe enemy’s spawn closer you because I found myself looking at the mini map even more and filling in the holes where my teammates where not looking. I felt it was less forgiving in the amount of time you have to plug though’s holes. People die faster as well as your self so being cautious around corner seemed more impotent then I might be in BO2. From the little footage we have seen of Call of Duty Ghost it looks like people drop fast much like MW3. Rummer has it that drop shots are back and very effective like they were in MW3 so your going to want to brush up on your drop shot skills for Call of Duty Ghost.
Even before cod ghost is out there are tips I can give you to better your success in the game. That’s right this is all about getting better at Call of Duty Ghost. I know you might be asking how I can have tips when the games not even out. Well I usually have a lot of early game success and I believe that’s because I play a bit different the first week or 2. I would like to pass this early Call of Duty success to others. Lets get a broad idea of what the tips are for COD Ghost then go into more detail.
- know differences between COD Ghost and Black Ops 2 (if you are a BO2 player)
- Take it slow
- Learn Quickly
- Make fast assumptions on what the better guns are and use them
- Spend a lot of time playing Call of Duty Ghost the first few weeks
Call of Duty Ghost Tip / Trick 1 (Differences):
Knowing the differences between the Call of Duty Games can give you an edge over the competition. Many differences between the 2 games don’t have a huge impact on how you play from game to game. Such as class setups and streaks unless there are impotent perks like stopping power or ninja. Those types of perks or over powered things don’t really make you better at Call of Duty Ghost per say but they can increase your score.
- Quicker kills
- Lean Mechanic
- Less Head Glitches
From the early game footage of Ghost we see that guns kill faster. This means hitting corners ADSing is even more impotent. There’s less fudge room if someone gets the first shot or if you get the first shot. Any way you can get that first shot off is the way you want to take. There is a new Lean mechanic that I would recommend you try out and see if this helps a lot. If it ends up being the new “head glitch” and is just as effective then you are going to want to be one of the first to exploit the new mechanic. There appear to be less head glitches in the 3 maps we saw from the early Call of Duty Ghost footage. This will encourage less camping and I would imagine more tricks like drop shots and/or jump shots. People who have played the game talk about a sense of momentum with your avatars movement. If this effects your play much you are going to want to think about what slows you down and how it works that way its not working against you.
Take it Slow:
Everyone aside from a select few who got the game earlier will not know that maps well at first. Meaning they will not know lines of sight well. You want to exploit the fact that people don’t know the maps even when you don’t know the maps yourself. One way of doing this is taking it slow and making sure you are Aim Down Sights (ADS) when you hit corners. Most of all, avoid areas that look open or susceptible to attack from many areas. Having a tendency to hang out on the edge of the maps helps but you still want to get to know the whole map. Take note of lines of sight and what angles you kill and get killed from. People will stand out in plain sight or run out in the middle just because they don’t have map knowledge yet. If you want to make your K/D better in Call of Duty unfortunately camping will help although I don’t think big campers constitutes a good player.
Learn Quickly and Fast assumptions and Guns in Ghost:
Learning quickly can give you a huge advantage over people specially at the beginning. It sounds weird I know but you can do this on purpose. Think think think. Think about where you got killed how you could have avoided it. Where the lines of sight are. Ask yourself what makes this game different then what your used to and how can I adapt to Call of Duty Ghost. Try to make guesses on what the best guns are in a short time then use them. What do people do to kill you is it a valid strategy that you should be doing. If you get rocked by something like explosive think about how to counter it because most of the time there is a counter in Call of Duty. Make a class to counter things such as explosive with perks that can reduce explosive damage or something else to make the enemy’s strategy less viable against you in Ghost.
Spend A Lot Of Time Playing Early On:
Spend a lot of time playing COD Ghost in the first few weeks because it pays off more in the beginning then later on. Later on in the games life people will know almost everything there is to know about how to play well in Call of Duty Ghost. If you learn quickly by playing a lot early on you can grasp more then most of the players that you are playing against about map knowledge, aim / sensitivity familiarity, and game sense these are huge advantages. Hopefully this has help you get better at Call of Duty Ghost.
